Onana talks tough as Man United seek redemption against Lyon

Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana has stoked the fire ahead of their crucial Europa League quarter-final against Lyon, insisting Red Devils are “way better” than their French opponents.

With domestic ambitions all but extinguished, United’s European campaign is now their last realistic path to silverware and a lifeline to next season’s Champions League.

Currently languishing in 13th place in the Premier League with seven games left, the Red Devils are out of the FA Cup and unlikely to secure a top-seven finish.

A goalless draw in the Manchester derby further proved United’s attacking struggles, with the team failing to score in both games since the international break.

However, they can draw confidence from an unbeaten record against Lyon in European competition, winning two and drawing two of their previous four meetings.

Lyon, fifth in Ligue 1, come into the fixture in good spirit after a 2-1 comeback win over Lille and will be hopeful of ending their winless streak against the English giants.
