Kechi Okwuchi, survivor of the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash, has commemorated the crash’s 19th anniversary.
In a statement via her verified handle on X, Okwuchi described those who lost their lives in the crash as angels, stating that she hopes they keep watching over her.
“Today is the 19th anniversary of the Sosoliso plane crash.
I hope the 60 Angels keep watch over me as I navigate life, living out God’s purpose for me. I hope their loved ones who’ve rooted for me since day 1 are proud of me, and that I can keep giving them reasons to smile,” she wrote.
The Ill fated crash happened in December 2005, in a Nigerian domestic passenger flight from Nigeria’s capital of Abuja to Port Harcourt.
The craft which had about 110 people on board, crash-landed at Port Harcourt International airport, slammed into the ground and burst into flames.
Immediately after the crash, seven survivors were recovered and taken to hospitals, but only two people survived.
