Farotimi was recently arrested by the police on defamation charges filed by Afe Babalola and transferred from Lagos to Ekiti State. Despite being granted bail by the Federal High Court in Ado-Ekiti for ₦50 million, he remains in custody.

The protests, organized under the #FreeDeleFarotimiNow campaign, are supported by former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore. Demonstrations are planned for Tuesday in multiple locations, including Lagos, Ekiti, Abuja, and London.

Reports indicate that armed police officers have been stationed at Babalola’s Lagos office to counter any protest activities. Meanwhile, Farotimi appeared at the Ado Ekiti Magistrate Court on Tuesday for a hearing on the defamation charges against him.
