A UK-based Nigerian man has opened up about his alarming experience with the Nigeria Police during a short visit to Nigeria.

He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that he encountered multiple problems with the police over the course of 11 days.

“Spent 11 days in Lagos, Police carry me 5 times 💀. Walai, I almost spent more time with the police than my family and friends during my vacation 😔,” he tweeted.

The post spread rapidly, as many Nigerians shared their own stories and voiced their anger about regular police harassment.

Some users highlighted the increasing problem of profiling and extortion by police, especially against Nigerians living abroad or those seen as wealthy.
