Hermes, a former Big Brother Naija contestant, talked about his life after the show. He shared how he has been coping with the changes, especially after losing his mother, Isioma.
In a recent chat with Pulse Nigeria, Hermes opened up about his journey since leaving the BBNaija house.
While expressing gratitude for the possibilities that have come his way, he admitted that life has not been without its obstacles.
Hermes claimed that one of the most difficult challenges he has faced is dealing with the death of his mother, who died on November 5, 2024.
He admitted that finding a new balance in life without his mother has been difficult.
“I haven’t been coping, to be honest. Every time people ask me about that, I just say that I’m as good as can be. What used to be my norm was centered around my mom, and now it’s difficult to find that balance or what my norm is. I’m also trying to find new normals, and I don’t think that will ever go away. I’m just learning to live with it.”
Speaking about his artistic endeavors, Hermes underlined the importance of using his art to explore the multifaceted nature of human life.
“When people ask me about my art, I like to highlight the interdimensional nature of human life. Like when people see me play basketball, they think that’s all I do, and when people see me acting, they ask, ‘Why don’t you take this seriously?’ which I do, but it takes time to get out there. I’m taking my time to find my place in every industry, but currently I’m really focused on my art, which is contemporary dance. I feel like there’s so much gold in the Oworonshoki area, and I want to mine it.”
