Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, recently shared insights on how he has managed past mistakes and embraced accountability. Speaking on the ‘Binging With Game Changers’ show, the singer, who has faced ongoing public scrutiny over his separation from his wife, actress Annie Idibia (now Annie Macaulay), explained that he does not shy away from acknowledging his struggles.
2Baba revealed that taking responsibility for his actions is crucial for his personal growth, allowing him to move forward despite external judgments. The singer emphasized that although harsh comments, particularly from social media users, can be painful, he has developed resilience over time to cope with them.
“Somethings happen when people talk, you become a subject of all kinds of joke and malicious comments, it hurts but you just have to know it is the way of the world and you just have to grow some thick skin, where I am going is bigger than all this stuff and I know that doesn’t define me, It doesn’t make me bad or that I am a monster.”
The singer mentioned that he often showed up at comedy performances to make himself feel better.
“Sometimes I watch them comedians like Basketmouth, they even joke about me,” he said.
