The couple first met at a costume party, and their first date coincided with the birth of Littman’s great-granddaughter.

Littman’s granddaughter, Sarah Sicherman, expressed the family’s joy, sharing that they were thrilled he had found a companion to share activities with, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though Littman had been married for 65 years to a woman named Bernice, his desire to marry again came as a surprise to the family, who had assumed they would simply enjoy their later years together.

Rabbi Adam Wohlberg, who officiated the ceremony, noted that the couple’s decision to marry felt like a natural step after years of deep friendship. He also praised their wisdom, saying they had already learned all they needed to know about each other.

With a combined age of 202 years, they may have broken a Guinness World Record for the oldest couple to marry.
